Dr. Portia Sabin is President of the Music Business Association (Music Biz), a not-for-profit membership organization that nurtures the global industry community by connecting, empowering and educating its many players. The Association is best known for its slate of annual events, including the Music Biz Conference, which unites more than 2,000 key decision makers to support healthy growth across the global music business.

Dr. Sabin is also host of The Future of What podcast and radio show, a forum for industry professionals to discuss important issues of the day. Prior to joining Music Biz, she was President of independent label Kill Rock Stars, and founded artist management firm Shotclock Management. She is also responsible for creating the A2IM Libera Awards for independent music. She began her career in music by drumming, recording, and touring with NYC band The Hissyfits while working on her Ph.D. at Columbia University.
