Josh Madell founded the NYC-based retail record shop Other Music in 1995, and for two decades he ran the iconic store, as well as their label imprint and live music business. After closing in 2016, Madell joined Secretly Distribution, where he oversaw the company's continued growth as a global digital and physical distributor. Alongside the Secretly Group labels (Dead Oceans, Jajaguwar, and Secretly Canadian), SD works with a broad cross-section of great independent labels and artists, including diverse labels like Sacred Bones, Run For Cover, The Numero Group, Rhymesayers, Smalltown Supersound, PAN, Captured Tracks, Colemine, ZZK, and Ghostly International, and direct artist distribution for Rostam, Crumb, Santigold, Portugal. The Man, and many others.
