about

From the underground to one of the most sought-after live acts in Europe and one of the most innovative new electronic music projects – in just a few years, ÄTNA achieved what many consider impossible in these times. The Dresden duo create anything but norm pop. “Artful stimulation” is probably more to the point. Avant-garde sounding artists with a strong grasp of catchy hooks and driving rhythms, ÄTNA are a powerhouse of creativity and musical innovation. It is logical that boundaries must inevitably be blown up in the process: those of genres, but also gender, role conceptions, stylistic conventions of all kinds and long-established ideas of what music can and should be allowed to do.

In April, the 2020 ANCHOR – Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award winners released their highly anticipated second album "Push Life“ – a work that’s new, strange in the best of all senses, surprising, brave, danceable, playful, contradictory, multi-leafed and detailed, challenging, sensual, accessible and rewarding for all who embark on the journey of discovery. Transcending the world of sound, ÄTNA's accompanying visual world is the consistent implementation of their musical versatility, another mosaic piece of their multiverse of sound, design, fashion, movement and language, virtuality and weirdness.
